Marek Musil (1974) is a contemporary Czech visual artist. During his photographic career he has developed a very distinctive style that has inspired many advertising agencies. After his stays in the Middle East and New York, he decided to return to the Czech Republic and with a fresh portfolio to start a full-time career as a photographer. His first paid assignments were in domestic fashion magazines. His commercial portfolio consists of names of big clients such as Birell, České Dráhy, Komerční banka, Auto Škoda, T-Mobile, Adidas, ČEZ, Czech Tourism, Pilsner Urquell, Raiffeisen bank...He is currently interspersing his commercial work with reporting trips around the world, in which he creates a documentary series looking at the world through his own eyes. While photographing concerts and musical personalities, he symbolically returns to his active role in a rock band. He became widely known for his series The Burning Man Collection, which included Mark's first photographic publication under the auspices of the Leica Gallery in Prague. The extensive collection capturing the atmosphere of festivals in the middle of the desert was widely acclaimed by the media and the public. He is the Nikon Brand Ambassador for the Czech RepublicIn 2018, he was a finalist of Czech Press Photo. He is also a member of the APF (Association of Professional Photographers).
